Appletree Point Asociation Meeting: June 22nd 2013

Held at the home of Andy and Rich Kenney- 175 Appletree Point Road

In attendance: Andy and Rich Kenney, Ty Danco and Helene Langevin, Jeff Haig, Brianne Chase, Rolfe Eastman, Chris and Doug Campbell, Rolly Delfaussse and Anne Conlin

Treasurer’s Report- 10 paid out of 34 total households last year.

Current Balance:  $13,059.39

Separately for road repair: Lacking one payment of $134.  Road will be patched and current “road     substance” will be put on

Recommendation for dues- Chris Campbell made a motion to accept the Board’s recommendation to pass on dues for this year. Seconded by Rolff Eastman and passed.

Discussion followed and ideas presented: Dismiss the dues, though, there are 24 members who did not pay last year. What to do? Go after the scofflaws, forgive, or refund those who paid or future credit. Rolly Delfausse made the motion that those who paid last year will be credited in future assessment of taxes and Doug Campbell seconded. The motion passed.

Elections

Rich Kenney made the motion to accept the current slate of officers. Chris Campbell seconded and it was approved. President- Jeff Haig, Secretary- Andy Kenney, Treasurer- Chris Campbell, Board Members- Rich Kenney, Doug Campbell, Jeff Haig, Chris Campbell and Andy Kenney.

Other Business:

Von Turkivitch property on Sunset Cliff Road- 24 acres of solar panels are proposed.  Wondering if it is considered commercial? Is the land on a 99 year lease to the Flynn estate?

Appletree Lane-Different versions of future development

Taxation-Individuals can appeal after the new tax assessment (if it is a change). We may consider going to the tax board as a group if conditions warrant it. If people ARE concerned about their taxes, call Jeff Haig about a group action, There is speculation that the taxes may be lowered!

The members authorized Rich Kenney to make a request again to remove the second speed bump after the bike path on the west side.

Ice Cream Truck was parked for two hours in one place with the music on! Individuals may request them to turn if off or move around.

Stop Sign Someone can call the President of Strathmore about the absurdity of the three way Stop signs!

Next Appletree Point Association Gathering- Who would like to host?

Upcoming Breakfast on the Beach hosted by the Delfausse/Ardells on the morning of July 4th (cancelled if rain). All Appletree Point Association members are invited from 9:00-11:00 am.
