Construction

Here is a map of the plan for the new construction planned for the Wick Estate.

Building will take place within the thick black line.

Party!

1. PARTY!
Come to the First Annual Appletree Point Cookout on Sunday, August 26th at 4:00 pm! We will be gathering at Rich and Andrea Kenney’s house at 175 Appletree Point Road. Please bring something to eat and drink.
In case of bad weather, we will try to reschedule.

2. BEACH CLEANING:
Speaking of Rich Kenney, he and the Tractor Committee are planning to rake the beach this weekend. If you can, please move any obstructions out of the way.

3. NEW CONSTRUCTION THREAT:
I went to a meeting this week with a new group called N7, which is forming to oppose dense construction planned for the old Wick Estate, which abuts Appletree Point Lane. N7 wants to represent the seven neighborhoods which will be affected by the construction.
This plan could mean that 132 units of elderly housing would be put in, some of which may be two or three stories high. Access roads might lead out to our neighborhood, and there will be significant impacts on traffic and storm-water runoff.
I would like to find someone who has some experience with planning issues to help serve on this new committee. If you would like to do so, please let me know at 863-3955, or jhaig@comcast.net. I will add more information, and maps, to the blog at www.appletreepoint.blogspot.com as it comes in.

Hope to see you all on the 26th!
