2021 Annual Meeting Minutes

The Annual Meeting of the Appletree Point Shoreowners Association 2021 was held on Wednesday, August 24th at 7:00 pm. President Jeff Haig welcomed everyone and the meeting started at 7:05. We went around a large circle of members to introduce ourselves. Jeff asked for members to update their information on a clipboard he made available.

AGENDA:

 

1. Treasurer's report

Chris Campbell reported that we have $10, 227.95 in our Treasury.

 

2. Road report

The people living on and off of the dirt road out onto the Point pay Chris Reid for annual road maintenance. Amanda Robbins shared that the Burlington Electric (with the help of Comcast, Burlington Telecom and Fairpoint) is planning to do underground wiring sometime (hopefully this Fall) and Chris Reid will regrade the road afterward.

 

3. Beach report

Discussion began on the health of the beach. This summer there has been an excessive amount of grass, weeds and small tree growth. Strathmore bulldozed their beach and created a channel for the water to get to the lake. Some residents have chosen to hire tractors or scrape up their beaches themselves. Kit Ardell and Ty Danco are on the beach committee. They welcome input on solutions.  It was questioned whether to wait until later in the fall to do something or earlier next July. It was decided that the best course of action is to send out a special email to the beach owners to share thoughts on the best course of action.

 

4. Dues Recommendations

The Board did not recommend dues for this year. Eric Miller presented the motion and Nancy Furlong seconded that decision.

 

5. Old business:

Shanta Eastman and Amanda Reid will create a Facebook page for our association. We do have a blog (https://appletreepoint.blogspot.com/)

 

6. New business

 

7 Elections:

The present board has agreed to stay on. Eric Miller made a motion and Spencer Newman seconded the motion to accept this board.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 and members stayed to mingle and enjoy the refreshments provided by Kasania with proceeds from the Association.
